Wayzata native Sarah Farley leads Marquette University orientation team

2013 Sep 9

Sarah Farley, a senior at Marquette University studying public relations, is one of 20 Marquette University students who served as an Orientation team leader at Marquette's "First Things First" Orientation. Orientation team leaders were responsible for helping nearly 2,000 freshmen settle into campus life this August.

Each year, the university selects team leaders from a very competitive applicant pool to welcome and assist incoming students and their families during Marquette Preview in June, and New Student and Family Orientation in August.

During their first week on campus, new students enjoyed a multitude of activities and events led by team leaders. Highlights from this year's Orientation included excursions into Milwaukee, a Health and Wellness Challenge scavenger hunt, and the popular square dance, which has been a tradition for generations of Marquette freshmen. In addition, team leaders facilitated daily small group discussions, participated in informational sessions, and trained and supervised a team of their peers during the week.

Marquette has hosted Orientation for more than 60 years. This year's programming started Aug. 21. Learn more at http://www.marquette.edu/osd/orientation/index.shtml.
