Ashley Zimmermann elected to the Panhellenic Council at Marquette University

Ashley Zimmermann, a Senior English major from Fox Lake, WI, was elected to the executive board of the Panhellenic Council at Marquette University. A Greek governing council, the Panhellenic board is representative of Marquette's eight social sororities.

Board members are elected based on their leadership abilities and desire to strengthen Marquette's Greek community. They work with the university's Interfraternity Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council to promote and expand the Greek presence on campus. Each of the eight sororities supports a different philanthropic organization and hosts numerous events and fundraisers throughout the year.

More than 13 percent of Marquette undergraduate women are members of sororities. Together, the chapters raised $36,000 last year for charity.
